From May until August - as soon as the weather permits - the painting courses will take place outside in 'plein air’ on the most beautiful spots in and around Rotterdam. They are fun and easy to follow, and all materials are included.

From September until May the courses are organized in my studio in De Machinist:

Plein Air Painting Courses

There will be a plein air class every weekday evening from Monday to Thursday from 19:30 to 21:30 hrs. as long as the weather will permit it. You can start these weekly courses at any moment this summer, except the first three weeks of August, and no prior experience or level is required. The classes are accessible and worthwhile for both professionals and beginners. All major subjects, like perspective, lighting, composition, color and painting techniques will be treated while painting landscapes, clouds and skies at the most beautiful spots in Rotterdam. All materials will be included and available on the spot, so you don’t need to bring anything except a chair or plaid to sit on and you can start painting right away. You are of course free and welcome to bring drinks and a picknick as well.

Weekly courses for all levels

To learn how to paint is to learn how to see. With a focus on centuries old tried and tested methods, you'll learn the techniques that will help you look at the world around you in a new way with attention and clarity. This will help you to understand and depict anything that you can see accurately and completely within your own personal style. Anyone with a little bit of patience and perseverance can learn the basic skills you need to paint or draw. The most important thing to develop is the joy of it, and with these professional, yet fun classes, that should not be a problem.

The course is perpetually ongoing and you can start whenever you want, provided that there is an open spot available. You pay per set of 8 courses. A set of 8 painting classes is € 225,-, with all materials included and you can take these courses in a 10-week timeframe.
